Experience the Pieniny with every sense
This is more than a rafting trip. The current of the Dunajec sets the pace while a traditional wooden raft passes between forested slopes and limestone peaks. The raftsmen’s stories bring the landscape, border culture and local humour to life.
How the day unfolds
- Travel from Zakopane to Slovakia through the scenery of the Tatras, Spiš and Pieniny.
- Rafting from Majere to Lesnica – approximately 14 kilometres, usually 1.5–2 hours depending on river and operating conditions.
- Lesnica and a short Pieniny walk to stretch your legs among forest and limestone slopes.
- Chata Pieniny – time to rest and enjoy the regional element included in the current option.
- A viewpoint, conditions permitting, for a panorama of the Pieniny, Three Crowns and the Tatras.
Who is it for?
The raftsmen control the boat, so no paddling experience is required. This option suits families, couples and groups of friends who want nature, local tradition and a relaxed pace rather than a demanding hike.
