Closer to the Tatra sky

Lomnický Peak delivers a high-mountain experience without a long climb. Cable cars rise above the valleys towards 2,634 metres, the second-highest summit in the Tatras. On a clear day, the panorama stretches across the ridges and basins on both sides of the mountains.

Programme highlights

  • Tatranská Lomnica – the start of the cable-car journey.
  • Skalnaté pleso – a transfer point and time for views beneath rocky peaks.
  • Lomnický Peak – the final, most dramatic cable-car section. Time at the summit is limited and is normally about 50 minutes.
  • Kežmarok – a historic centre with churches and, depending on the confirmed programme, the option to visit the castle.

Who is it for?

Ideal for lovers of panoramic views and photography who do not want a demanding trek. Travellers should be comfortable with cable cars and a rapid change in altitude.

The key condition

The summit journey depends strictly on cable-car operations, visibility, wind and other weather conditions. Tickets for the final section are limited, so it is worth enquiring early. The operator may adjust the programme when conditions prevent the full ascent.

  • Bring a valid ID card or passport, including for children.
  • Take warm, windproof clothing and stable footwear even on a sunny day.
  • Tell the organiser about relevant health limitations before booking.
